School bus in serious collision

The truck driver remains trapped inside his vehicle, according to local media.

“It was a frontal collision between a school bus and a truck. Five people who sustained injuries are still inside the bus,” said police spokesman Kennet Jonsson.

The remaining schoolchildren have been transferred to another bus.

“I don’t know how many people have been injured in total but nobody has died,” Jonsson told news agency TT.

The bus was travelling from Klabböle to Sörfors when the accident occurred.

Several emergency vehicles, including a helicopter, were rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised shortly before 2.30pm.
