The landing gear gave way on the plane as it landed at Copenhagen Kastrup airport on Saturday. The plane was previously grounded after a spate of similar incidents, starting in Ålborg on September 9th. SAS carried out controls and started flying the plane again at the beginning of October.
SAS Sweden was telling passengers o Sunday that the grounding of the Dash planes would cause minimal disruption to passengers.
“We can resolve the situation in a satisfactory way as it is a Sunday and autumn break, so we have fewer passengers than in a normal week,” said Linda Sjödin, spokeswoman for SAS Sweden.
At 7am it was still not clear which flights would be cancelled.
“We are rebooking to our other aircraft and re-scheduling a few flights so that they fetch from a couple of airports before returning to (Stockholm) Arlanda,” she said.
SAS is also trying to rent aircraft to make up for the missing Dash planes.
SAS Denmark has cancelled 49 flights on Sunday, but only one between Denmark and Sweden.
The Canadian manufacturer of the Dash planes wrote on its website that the latest incident appeared not to be linked to previous problems with the planes’ landing gear.
All airlines that fly the planes have been informed of the incident in Copenhagen, but Bombardier recommends that all flights continue as before.
