Shopkeeper stabbed to death

Police in Norrköping in eastern Sweden are searching for two people, a man and a woman, suspected of stabbing and killing a 55-year-old store owner at his place of work on Thursday evening.

The victim was taken to the city’s Vrinnevi Hospital from his store in the Hageby district but doctors were unable to save his life.

Police have launched a murder investigation.

“We are looking for two suspected perpetrators, a woman aged around 25 and a man of around 40,” police spokesman Anders Månsson told news agency TT.

Witnesses saw the pair fleeing towards the city centre after the attack. The woman had dark, shoulder-length hair and was wearing a mid-length coat. The man was described as well-built and balding with dark hair.

Police have not established a motive for the attack.

The suspect, who was 17 at the time, has since April been in custody in connection with another case. He is suspected of kidnapping and attempted murder after an incident which left an underage boy with gunshot wounds in Skärholmen in December 2023.

Another two teens are in custody on suspicion of protecting a criminal and a third boy is suspected of aggravated weapons offences.

A further two people are suspected of involvement but are not in custody.

The 18-year-old denies the murder allegations.
