Some 4,794 people of Denmark have died in total between the first coronavirus-related death on March 14 and April 12.
This compares to 5,131 in the same period in 2018 and 4,794 in the same period last year.
“There has not been any excess mortality in Denmark, such as has been seen, for example, in Sweden,” Dorthe Larsen, section chief at Statistics Denmark, told the B.T. newspaper.
“The total number of deaths over this period has lain at around 4,500 over the past five years, depending to an extent on whether there has been a flu epidemic or not.”
