Munch show hits half a million record
Nearly half a million people, both tourists and locals, came to see the giant exhibition of paintings by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch which ended on Sunday, making it the most viewed exhibition in the country's history.

The Munch 150 exhibition, held between June 2 and October 13, marked the 150th anniversary of the birth of the painter, who is most famous for his angst-filled expressionist masterpiece, The Scream.
"This exceeds our wildest dreams. You could not hope for a stronger demonstration of Edvard Munch's continuing importance for our times," said Stein Olav Henrichsen, director of the Munch Museum, which co-hosted the exhibition with the National Museum.
A total of 485,000 people saw the exhibition, which was billed as "the most comprehensive presentation of Munch's work ever displayed".
