According to the study, released on Sunday by the Forsa institute for cable television provider Premiere Star, former President Bill Clinton also gets the love from German women; 15 percent would have an affair with him. In line with his current flagging poll numbers, only 2 percent of German women would have a tryst with current President George W. Bush.
As with American voters, Obama’s popularity is even greater with younger Germans, the poll revealed. Among 14 to 29-year-old women, 38 percent would have an affair with Obama.
Forsa also quizzed German men about which female American politicians they would have an affair with, but the results are more inconclusive. Amongst men, 11 percent would carry on a dalliance with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, 10 percent with Sentator Hillary Clinton, 8 percent with Alaska Governor and Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, and 8 percent with Barack Obama’s wife, Michelle.
But the Forsa poll had a bit of good news for German husbands and boyfriends who fear they could lose their lovers to Washington if Obama wins Tuesday’s election – more than half of the respondents said they would rather stay with their current partner than have an affair with an American politician.
