The couple went into quarantine on Wednesday after Victoria developed cold symptoms, and on Thursday they both tested positive, said the Royal Court.

According to the statement, she and her husband are “experiencing mild symptoms but feel well under the circumstances”.

They are quarantining with their children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, and the royal family’s physician is carrying out contact tracing.

Victoria’s brother, Prince Carl Philip, and his wife Princess Sofia, tested positive for Covid-19 in November.

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia were given their first dose of vaccine in January.
