Public Health Agency: 'Big risks over the coming weeks'
At the weekly press conferences, authorities reported increasing “pandemic fatigue” which was causing people to slack off in following the measures in place, and reiterated the importance of following the recommendations in place.
State epidemiologist Anders Tegnell said that new cases of the disease were on the rise again, saying, “It is clear that we have a difficult situation with big risks over the next few weeks.”
In particular, anyone who decided to travel during the school winter sports break was urged only to do so if they could travel in an “infection-safe” way, not using public transport and with a plan in place of how to isolate and return home without coming into contact with anyone if they started showing symptoms.

Four dead after fall through ice
Two serious incidents were reported on Thursday of groups falling through holes in ice on frozen lakes, possibly a consequence of warming temperatures. People in southern Sweden are urged to stay off the ice; higher temperatures mean it has not been able to thicken.
Four people were found dead after falling through ice in Sävsjö, Småland. In Ekerö, west of Stockholm, another group of four were taken to hospital after a similar incident, the extent of their injuries unknown. There, two people had also gone through the ice while trying to help.
