Transport disruption amid severe storms
On Thursday morning, there were power outages in parts of central and eastern Sweden following severe storms through the night and early morning. Several train departures in the southwest were also cancelled due to strong winds.
The temperatures are expected to continue getting colder and in Västerbotten, weather agency SMHI issued a class two warning (the second highest on a three-point scale) for snowfall, with up to 30cm expected.

Sweden's upper secondary schools may return to distance learning
Upper secondary schools (for 16-18-year-olds) now have the option to introduce distance learning if judged necessary to avoid crowding and spread of infection at the school.
In practice, this isn't a huge change; in-person teaching is still preferred, according to Education Minister Anna Ekström, and schools already had the option to switch to remote learning in order to reduce the risk of crowding on public transport. The updated wording comes into effect from November 23rd, but Ekström said schools should consider other measures first, such as adjustments to timetables or class sizes.
