A paternity undertaken by a Valencia resident has proven that world-famous singer Julio Iglesias is his father, according to several Spanish dailies. The DNA test was taken in Miami and the results were communicated by Valencia solicitors' firm Bufete Osuna.
Such DNA tests confirm paternity to a 99.9% probability, the maximum possible.
The 40-year-old man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has sought to demonstrate that Iglesias was his father for many years. Under Article 39 of the Spanish constitution, all citizens have the right to know who their parents are.

The lawyers representing the man said the DNA test will be added to a spate of other documentation so that this “truth will be recognized by the judicial system”
Julio Iglesias is said to have had a brief affair with the man's mother. Iglesias fathered three children from his first wedding to Filipino journalist Isabel Preysler – including pop star son Enrique Iglesias – and five more children from his second marriage to Dutch model Miranda Rijnsburger.
Spanish journalist Beatriz Pastor has claimed in the past that Enrique Iglesias, who has sold more than 150 million records worldwide, is not in fact the son of Julio. Pastor claimed in 2014 she would present evidence of her claim in a forthcoming unauthorized biography of Julio Iglesias.
