The romps allegedly went on for years and the details of which were recorded digitally by a female flight attendant – a 46-year-old mother of four children.
According to media reports the Transavia hostess would often frolic with other members of the crew, even on the plane during working hours.
She would also have sex with pilots in the cockpit even during flight, the reports claimed.
The hostess apparently kept a digital diary detailing the ins and outs of all her “mile-high” extra-marital affairs. They should have remained a secret until her husband for found the diary and blew his top.
He apparently threatened to reveal all but the mother filed a lawsuit in a desperate bid to keep her sexcapades out if the public eye.
But then there was a leak to the Dutch newspaper Le Telegraaf causing much embarrassment for all involved.
And if the details of the romps are true, it’s easy to see why the airline and the employees want to keep them under wraps.
Apparently many of the pilots alleged to be involved are married.
According to reports the airline launched a probe into the allegations and decided that passenger safety was never in danger.
“We have taken note of these reports. We take them very seriously. Internal investigation revealed that the safety of passengers was never in danger”, Transavia told Le Telegraaf.
The case will be heard on October 24th.
Earlier this year Transavia, owned by Air France-KLM, was named the best budget airline in Europe, ahead of the likes of Ryanair and easyJet.
Four criteria were used to score each airline: the comfort of the cabin, the welcome of air stewards, the quality of the refreshments offered for sale, and entertainment or services on board.
And no it wasn't the pilots who gave the scores. It was the passengers.
Transavia scored highly on each point.
“In fact [Transavia] does everything pretty well,” said Flavien Tete the co-founder of the Flight Report website.
“The company has an excellent reputation, the crew is young and friendly and the proposed destinations are mainly for leisure reasons,” he added.
