VIDEO: Frenchman goes on iPhone-smashing rampage

A man in an Apple store in Dijon has been filmed while smashing iPhones and computers in what appears to be a furious outburst.

The man is understood to have carried out the rampage on Thursday afternoon at an Apple store in Dijon, central France.

In the short video that has been posted on YouTube (see below), he calmly walks through the store smashing the screens using a pétanque ball.

He then smashes at least 12 iPhones, four iMacs, and one MacBook Air computer, which would be worth over €13,000.

While he is crushing the Apple products, he simply yells “Shut up” to anyone who tries to communicate with him, until a worker eventually approaches him to calm the scene.

It appears the man was an angry customer of Apple, as he says during the video:

“Apple is a company that violated European consumers' rights. They refused to reimburse me, I told them: 'Give me my money back'. They said no. So you know what's happening? This is happening!”

The man was handed over to police after the incident, reported Le Parisien newspaper.
