Valais police caught the 24-year-old on a fixed radar camera on Tuesday evening and immediately revoked his driving licence, they said in a statement.
His case is now in the hands of the public prosecutor, who could hand down a maximum four-year prison sentence as well as a driving ban for at least two years.
The speed limit on motorways in Switzerland is 120km/hr.
Penalties for exceeding the limit start at 20 francs for an excess speed of up to 5km/hr and increase to 260 francs for driving at 25km/hr over the limit.
Those exceeding the limit by 35km/hr or more on a motorway will be disqualified from driving for a minimum of three months and have their offence recorded as a criminal conviction.
