A casting call has been issued for Tuesday and Wednesday in Malpartida, a small town with a population of 4,500 near Cáceres in Extremadura.

Modexpor International Casting, the Malaga-based company charged with supplying extras for Games of Thrones, said it was looking for men and women between 18 and 50 years old to take part.

They were quite specific about what characteristics potential extras should have. Only thin people need apply and men must be in good physical condition. Those with military experience are particularly valued, said the announcement.

Men can have either short, medium or long hair, and be willing to grow facial hair while women should have long hair of “uniform colour” and with no streaks or highlights.

“Those with hair that is green, red, purple, blue, pink etc, need not apply,” said Modexpor.

Although thousands were expected to turn up, the number invited to take part in the auditions would be limited to 2,400 men and 600 women, the company said.

Filming around Caceres, Trujillo and Malpartida will take place between November 14th and December 15th and the successful applicants will earn €54 a day.

Another casting will be announced soon to recruit extras for scenes to be filmed in Amodóvar del Rio near Cordoba and in Seville.
