Norway’s Trump ‘wig farm’ video a viral smash

Just in time for the vital New York primary on Tuesday, a Norwegian spoof video about US presidential candidate Donald Trump has spread across the internet like wildfire.

The video from VG claims that Trump’s signature hair, which the mogul insists is not a toupee, is the product of a ‘wig farm’ on Kvaløya, the island just outside of Tromsø.

VG’s video tells viewers that the Republican front runner has been mining the coast of Kvaløya for his hairpieces “for decades” and that the “factory is flourishing” because the Norwegian climate makes the wigs “stronger, thicker [and] fuller”.

Mixed in with clips of Trump denying that he wears a wig, the video's footage from Kvaløya does look like a full crop of Trump’s bizarre coiffure.

About two-thirds of the way through the 60-second clip, VG admits that the “secret wig field” is nothing more than bunch grass along the coastline and that the resemblance to what’s on top of the head of the man who could become the next leader of the free world is nothing but an uncanny coincidence.

Viewers worldwide have found the clip hair-raisingly funny and it has racked up nearly 14 million views since its release on Thursday.
