The man was arrested on Tuesday. Police believe that he has given a children’s contact information to others so that they can abuse them sexually.

The man is charged with sharing and possessing material from the abuse as well as attempted to participate in the sexual abuse of children, Trøndelag police said.

The police have spent more than a year investigating a large number of cases involving the extensive sharing of extreme abuse material online as well as direct physical abuse of children. Police said that Tuesday’s arrest was tied in to the investigation.

The man in question had recently moved from Norway to Denmark and police in both countries collaborated both before and during the arrest.

“Increasing levels of cooperation both across police districts and different countries have been a major strength in the investigation of these types of cases and makes us better able to identify the parties involved,” Trøndelag Police wrote in a press release.

The accused man was due to make a preliminary appearance in Sør-Trøndelag District Court on Wednesday.
