For anyone who’s ever been crammed in a Paris Metro carriage at rush hour, forced to inhale another commuter’s frizzy hair or be pressed against a sweaty armpit, it’s not easy to see any beauty in the Metro.
It's not a place anyone wants to spend a lot of time, especially with such incidents as the trouser-cutting Metro pervert or the random, scary acts of violence.
But the hashtag #VoirDuBeauDansLeMetro (See Beauty in the Metro) has taken off on Instagram and Twitter, showing snaps of street art, cute kids, pops of colour, and amorous couples, seeking to portray the Paris Metro in a new light.
Here are some of our favorites.
