Take a look at this footage from a 1926 documentary called “Voici Paris” (This is Paris) by Claude Lambert – a short clip of which has only recently been added to YouTube.
Impressively, the canal and its surroundings have hardly changed.
In recent weeks, of course, the canal has Saint-Martin looks a lot different, due to a mass cleaning job that's expected to last several months.
