He was released from prison in June last year, having served part of a two year conditional sentence for supporting the Islamist militant organisation and researching how to make a bomb on the internet.
He was ordered to undergo psychotherapy whilst on probation.
The police report said he was arrested early on Wednesday morning in his mother's apartment, in possession of Isis propaganda material. He is currently in custody in St Pölten, in Lower Austria.
Last year his mother alerted the police, saying that she had noticed her son was becoming increasingly radicalized.
