The Wind Games sees people from around the world compete against each other in various disciplines which all revolve around pulling shapes inside a wind tunnel.
Wind Games 2016 welcomed teams of four, two and individual freestyle fliers during the two-day competition in Castelló d’Empúries in northeastern Spain on January 22nd and 23rd.
The teams travelled from around the world, from as far afield as the United States and Qatar to Italy, France and the UK.
One of this year’s stand-out performances came from one of the youngest competitors.
Maja Kuczynska, 16, from Poland pulled off an incredible routine in the freestyle category to Sia’s hit Chandelier, which involved flipping and doing the splits in mid-air.
Despite the incredible routine, Kuczynska only managed to win second place behind the winner of the freestyle category, Leo Volkov from Russia.
Wind tunnels allow people to experience the feeling of falling through the air thanks to four turbines that produce a constant stream of vertical air flow.
The wind tunnels were originally used in aerospace research but have become an increasingly popular activity in recent years.
