A 30-year-old male passenger on a Widerøe flight from Copenhagen was arrested on Sunday night upon arrival at Torp Sandefjord airport for threatening behaviour in the skies, TV2 reported

The Norwegian man reportedly threatened a female flight attendant by saying he would “find and take her” and repeatedly hurled profanities at her.

A police spokesperson told TV2 that the incident was spurred by the man’s desire to continue swigging from a bottle of whisky.

“He was drinking from a whisky bottle on his way in to the plane. The dispute between him and the flight attendant began when she took it from him,” Per Andreassen said.

The man’s whisky-fuelled outrage was enough that the captain at one point threatened to turn the flight around and return to Copenhagen Airport.

“The crew found it necessary to move the passengers who were sitting near the man because his behaviour was so threatening,” Andreassen said.

The captain ultimately decided to continue on to Torp, where police were waiting to take him into custody.

“The man was quite clearly excessively drunk,” Andreassen added.

The 30-year-old was due to make a preliminary court appearance on Monday morning.
