Clinton keen to see Kravitz’s Swedish split

When Lenny Kravitz's leather trousers split on stage in Stockholm in August to reveal his manhood, few might have imagined that the incident would eventually impinge on the US presidential campaign.

But the singer's mishap has once again got the social media world talking after it became a topic of conversation between Lena Dunham, star of HBO's acclaimed comedy, Girls, and Hillary Clinton, the former US Secretary of State and favourite to be the Democratic party's nominee for the 2016 presidential election.

Dunham carried out the interview for her Lenny Letter website. And, in a preview clip shared by comedy video website Funny or Die, Dunham asked Clinton whether she'd seen that revealing episode.

The joke came after Dunham originally welcomed Clinton to the interview telling her it was an honour to be speaking with her and Clinton replied that she had thought it was an interview with Lenny Kravitz.

Dunham then asked Clinton if she'd seen Kravitz's wardrobe malfunction.

Clinton suggested she had not seen it, but that she might well do so in future.

She replied with deadpan humour, “Do you think I could get that on YouTube?” And continued, “Good. I'll look for that.”

The clip was published on September 24th but by Sunday October 4th it had scored more than 80,000 hits.

Kravitz made headlines in August after his leather trousers ripped during a gig in Sweden. He was performing at the Gröna Lund theme park in Stockholm on August 3rd when the crotch of his trousers tore during the first song of his set.

The incident was caught on film. Kravitz later dubbed the moment 'penisgate'.
