Anyone who lives in Oslo knows all too well that there is no shortage of seagulls in the seaside city, with the Norwegian capital's feathered residents likely to steal your hot dog at Akers Brygge, or shriek loudly outside your window as you try to sleep.
Using the NightCap Pro app, set for low-light conditions to capture the sky at night, graphic design student Mads Sæløen was surprised to find how much the gulls dominate.
He set the exposure for just 20 minutes on “light trail mode”, the setting designed for tracking stars, to show what looks like thousands of birds.
The time-lapse photo he created shows the flight path of the seagulls outside his window.
"I was quite surprised to see the sheer number of gulls who flew by during that short amount of time," he told Huffington Post of the photo he shared on Instagram April 10th. "I really don't think about them or how many there are otherwise."
