Denmark in for a week of mixed spring weather

After a Friday and Saturday filled with sunshine and warmer temps, Monday morning provided a cold blast of reality across most of Denmark. 

 

Monday started with pockets of rain and a hard-blowing wind coming in from the northwest, with gale-force winds along the coasts. Monday temperatures will reach between 7-10C, before a warm front moves in on Tuesday. 

 

Tuesday’s weather will bring slightly warmer temperatures but also an increased chance of rain. Things look better on Wednesday – depending on one’s location in the country. The southern part of Denmark can expect sun while the rest of the country will once again contend with clouds and rain. 

 

What everyone wants to know, of course, is how the weather will be come weekend. On that note, things look promising, according to DMI meteorologist Michael Skelbæk. 

 

“Weather-wise, we will have a so-so Monday, a gloomy Tuesday, a better Wednesday and Thursday through Saturday it looks even better,” Skelbæk told Jyllands-Posten. 

 

DMI’s extended forecast does not include any predictions of rain for the later half of the week and calls for temperatures to reach as high as 13C. 

 

Although the early part of the week will include rain, Skelbæk said that it should not be large amounts but rather “a millimeter or two”. 

 

Historically, April’s daytime temperatures in Denmark average 11.5C before taking a significant jump in May, where the ten-year average for daytime temps is 15.5C.
