The body of a British man in his fifties has been found washed up on France's southeastern Cote d'Azur, prosecutors said on Monday.
The corpse of the man, who authorities said was from Liverpool in northwest England, was discovered on Saturday off the coastal village of Eze.
They are expecting to perform an autopsy on the body this week to determine the cause of death.
Prosecutors said they were not working on any particular theory as to the possible cause of death.
The man, who was not named, was wearing sports kit. Identity papers confirming his British nationality and his bike were found nearby.
