Zlatan proud to unveil another Ibrahimovic

It's often said Zlatan Ibrahimovic's number one fan is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, so it's no surprise that he was over the moon to see his waxwork model unveiled at the Grevin Museum in central Paris on Monday.

PSG star Zlatan Ibrahimovic professed himself to be extremely proud to be cast in wax, and didn't waste time sharing the event on his official Instagram account (with a somewhat typical Zlatan-esque caption).

The 33-year-old striker — who was honoured for his goalscoring exploits for champions Paris Saint Germain since he joined in 2012 — is portrayed in a PSG shirt with his arms raised to the sky.

"It is really incredible to be here," beamed Ibrahimovic.

"It is a huge honour. Don't forget to take plenty of photos of me!" added the charismatic Swede, who nevertheless appeared for once to be a little intimidated by the occasion and was far from the cheeky chappie he often is on and off the pitch.

The waxwork model of Ibrahimovic, who has played over 100 times for his national side, has been placed close to the player widely believed to be the greatest ever footballer Brazilian maestro Pele, France's multiple rally world champion Sebastien Loeb and another French sporting great Judoka Teddy Riner.

Zlatan's strangest and most controversial quotes

Among the dignitaries present to celebrate the occasion with the former AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus and Barcelona marksman was the Swedish Ambassador to France as well as PSG's Qatari president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Ibrahimovic — whose statue took six months to complete — was a unanimous choice by the Grevin Academy presided over by the journalist Stephane Bern, who saluted him for being a 'football icon'.

"We love your cheeky side which contributes to your legend," gushed Bern.

Ibrahimovic did not go away empty-handed, though, instead of a match ball he is used to keeping after several hat-tricks he took with him a replica of a sculpture of his head created by Eric Saint Chaffray.

Zlatan has been ‘cured’ of coronavirus: AC Milan

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been given the all-clear to end his quarantine period and return to action after testing negative for coronavirus, the Serie A club announced on Friday.

Milan confirmed in a statement that the Swedish striker had “tested negative” twice in a row, as stipulated in the protocol to be able to lift the quarantine procedure.

Ibrahimovic, 39, sounded a more triumphal note on his social media: “You are cured! The health authority says the quarantine is over, you can go out!”, he wrote on Twitter.

The announcement comes a day after Milan said Ibrahimovic had tested positive a second time for Covid-19, putting in doubt his participation in the Milan derby on October 17.

Ibrahimovic first tested positive on September 24.

The derby remains in doubt with two other Milan players and five from Inter currently in self-quarantine.

In spite of his absence, Milan have made a decent start to the season, having climbed to second in Serie A after winning all three of their games and reaching the group stages of the Europa League.
