The survey by online research company Forsa for Gothaer Insurance showed that 11 percent of Germans said they had lied to their employer at least once to get the day off of work, Bild reported on Monday.
Another nine percent admitted to driving without a license and eight percent said they have taken back more change than they were supposed to.
A small percentage of Germans even admitted to lying in paperwork. Four percent said they lied on a tax return and two percent said they had lied to their insurance companies.
Still, a little more than half seemed to think of themselves as honest. Fifty-one percent said they could not remember a time they had lied.
