Despite being rushed to hospital in Schwarzach his left leg was so badly damaged it couldn’t be reattached.
The hospital said that the man is in a stable condition.
A 37-year-old man was driving a tractor with a snow blower attached during heavy snow flurries around 3.30am. The snow blower caught the leg of the younger man as he walked past.
The tractor driver tested negative for alcohol.
