A tissue seller in Seville who found over €16,000 in a wallet has handed the amount in to local police, according to the Spanish edition of the Huffington Post.

While out selling tissues at a set of traffic lights on December 3rd, the tissue seller noticed a wallet on the roof of a car, which fell to the ground as the car pulled away from the lights.

The wallet contained €3150, as well as six cheques to the value of €13,000 and various other documents, according to a statement released by Seville police.

The tissue seller immediately handed the wallet in to local police, who used the contents of the wallet to track down its owner, a 42-year-old Seville man. The owner of the wallet said he will stop by to thank the tissue seller in person for the civility he showed in handing in the wallet.

The police noted that the action "shows once again that the cooperation of citizens is essential in police work to be able to respond quickly" to any incident.
