Airport owners Avinor warn Thursday morning will see the majority of the disruption and Værnes, Flesland and Sola airports will be most affected. Oslo's Gardermoen could also be subject to disruption.

The cause of the delays is the introduction of new flight routines for Mid and Western Norway. 16 airports in total are directly affected.

Avinor informed they are making changes in order to accommodate a future growth in airspace traffic, more effective operations, and increased security.

Head of communication at Avinor Flysikring, Kristian Løksa, said in a press release and on Avinor's website: “We are working closely with the airline companies to make the consequences as little as possible for the passengers, but we must consider flight security as top priority. It is necessary to limit how many can fly at the same time, until we see that everything works as expected.”
