Kvarme said in a press release: “It has been difficult to stay away for such a long time. At the same time I'm thankful to the health authorities and for the arrangements that we made.”

The religious leader underwent a heart operation in March this year. On Wednesday the 65-year-old will attend an appeal outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in relation to the event “Torchlight procession for persecuted people.”

Ole Christian Kvarme has been the Bishop of Oslo in the Lutheran Church of Norway since 2005. In his role as Bishop of Oslo, Kvarme is the personal prelate of the Norwegian Royal Family.
