A 47-year-old German man had a fatal accident during a mountain hike in the Lech Valley Alps on Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, the man was hiking in the province of Tyrol with two fellow climbers when he lost his footing and fell about 50 meters from the Großbergjoches onto steep, rocky terrain at around 12:20 pm.
A police helicopter was dispatched, but the 47-year-old German climber died at the scene from his injuries.
