Cecilia "The First Lady" Brækhus stood face-to-face with IBF Champion Ivana Habazin for the first time in the Norwegian capital. The boxers are set to meet in TAP1, Copenhagen, on Saturday September 13th for their historic bout during “Nordic Fight Night.”
Brækhus is hotly tipped to win, with an impressive record of 25 wins across 25 fights and 7 career knockouts. She must beat the 24-year-old Croatian to become the first women's boxer in the sport's 30-year history to hold four world championship belts.
The 34-year-old from Bergen already holds the WBA, WBC and WBO welterweight belts.
“For me, this is an incredibly special fight. To be the first woman in history to hold all four belts would be the crowning achievement of my career. This has given me all the motivation I need. I can see no other outcome than me taking home all four belts on Saturday,” said Brækhus at the press conference.
Habazin is the current IBF Champion and has herself an impressive record of 13 wins and just one defeat.
Habazin said on BoxingScene.com: “I do not consider Cecilia to be the favourite. She may be one of the best female boxers around, but she is not unbeatable. I will prove that on Saturday night.”

Brækhus made her professional debut in January 2007, where she defeated Ksenija Koprek on an unanimous points decision in Basel, Switzerland.
Colombia-born Brækhus was adopted by her Norwegian parents at three-years-old. She entered top performance sport at the age of 14 and became World and European champion in kick-boxing, before turning to boxing at the age of 22.
