The 'fun run' style event unites runners from more than 1,100 businesses in a challenging run of 4.1 km through the Prater Park, which will also include Nordic Walkers along the same route.

Runners will set off from the Prater in blocks starting around 6:45 p.m., with the final batch of Nordic Walkers expected to get under way around 8 p.m.

The official event starts at 4 p.m., and is scheduled to last until midnight, culminating in a 'mega party' with extensive catering options and an entertainment program.

Attendance this year is expected to break all records, with more than 28,000 runners registered for the event.

The event organizer, Wien Energie, warns that public transport at the Prater station will likely be very congested from 5 p.m. onwards, so starters and spectators are advised to plan their journey to arrive well before the time they set off to complete registration formalities.

There will be limited paid parking near the stadium, but this is likely to fill up quickly.
