The teenager was charged in connection to the attack on the girl as she walked home from school in Bergen last week.

The man was arrested on Thursday and was questioned the same day. Police in Hordaland said he denies any part in the incident. He will appear in Bergen district court on Friday.

The girl was on her way from Breimyra school to Hjortlandsveien road on August 19th mid-afternoon, when the alleged assault took place. The attacker was described as a male adult with a Nordic look and walking two dogs.

Police attorney Trond Eide said to the media when the case first broke: “We hope that the information on two dogs will be of great help when we ask witnesses to report. Both the victim and other witnesses saw a man and two dogs.”

He added the police would take the case very seriously as "it's about a serious sexual assault against a girl from primary school.”

The girl is a pupil at Flaktveit primary school in Åsane, outside Bergen. The school has around 400 pupils and launched a campaign launched a campaign on pupil safety in the incident's aftermath, encouraging the pupils not to walk alone to or from school.
