Norway coach, Per-Mathias Høgmo, chose 18 football players for the games against England and Italy on Monday. Martin Ødegaard is not included in his selection.
The talented midfielder could still make the team after the manager said he is planning to add five or six more players after Norway's game against UAE on Wednesday.
Ødegaard is set to make his international debut for Norway against UAE at the Viking Stadion, Stavanger. Norway will play England in a friendly a week later.
Qualification for the Europe Championship starts against Italy on Ullevaal Stadium on September 9th and again the 15-year-old was not included in the team.
Høgmo said to NTB: “Martin is one player getting the opportunity [against the UAE]. After he will play in the under-21s, but I keep the door open.”
Norway is also preparing for the Europe Championship qualification without captain Brede Hangeland. The defender retired from international football this month.
On who Høgmo will choose as Hangeland's replacement, the Norway manager said: “Good question. We will spend a lot of time discussing that. We definitely have a few exciting candidates.”
