The two-and-a-half-year-old Swede, daughter to Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, began school on Monday at the Äventyret pre-school in Danderyd, just outside of Stockholm.

Swarmed by reporters, Victoria said that the royal family chose the school because it was recommended by close friends.

"It will be nice for Estelle to be at school with her friends," she said.

Born on February 23rd 2012, Princess Estelle carries the title of Duchess of Östergötland and is the first and only child of 36-year-old Victoria and her husband Daniel, 40, who was born a commoner.
Estelle is second in line to the Swedish throne after her mother.
