Body of woman found after jet fighter crash

Italian authorities said Saturday they had found the body of a woman pilot, one of four flyers who died when a pair of Tornado fighter jets crashed last week after colliding in mid-air.

Mariangela Valentini served with NATO forces in Afghanistan and Libya, the Italian air force said.

The bodies of the first two crew members were found Wednesday, and the third on Friday. They were aged from 31 to 36.

The fighter jets were based at Brescia in northern Italy and had been taking part in training exercises ahead of a larger NATO operation scheduled for later in the year.

An investigation is under way into the cause of the accident.
