The man, who shut down large parts of Stockholm when he threatened several political parties, was convicted for aggravated false alarms and criminal threats.
The 43-year-old, who reportedly has dual citizenship in Israel and Armenia, came to Sweden in April to "visit a friend" and applied for asylum. He was rejected and felt poorly treated by the Migration Board (Migrationsverket), his lawyer said.
On June 19th he walked into the Civil Rights Defenders office in Gamla Stan, near the Moderate Party's headquarters, and said he had a bomb. The area was evacuated as police and bomb technicians investigated the scene.
After five hours of sometimes frivolous negotiations with the police, the man surrendered. The bomb was later revealed to be a mock-up.
The man has confessed to the crimes.
