The man cancelled his trip to the Mediterranean because of the high summer temperatures at home in Norway. He thought he could receive compensation from his insurance company, stating it was unnecessary to travel to the Mediterranean when there was a summer heat on his own terrace.

The customer booked his holiday to the Med several months ago, but asked insurance company “Europeiske Reiseforsikring” for his money back, reported ”Aftenposten”.

Sigmund Clementz, a communication advisor for  “Europeiske/If” confirmed the story true and said: “Everyone can understand that an expensive trip to the Mediterranean seems unnecessary due to the weather conditions we are experiencing now in Norway, but it would hardly surprise anyone that his request was denied.”

“Norwegians have a high level of expectations and probably believe that most of whatever can happen during a vacation will be covered by the travel insurance. But this is not the case.”
