Around 3,000 protestors gathered in front of the Norwegian parliament in Oslo to back peace in Palestine.
The event was organised by the Palestine Committee of Norway and some twenty other organizations.
Speeches were given by the committee's leader, Kathrine Jensen, and Heikki Eidsvoll Holmås from the Socialist Left Wing Party.
Holmås said to the Oslo crowd: "There is one occupier and one occupied. There is one offender and one victim. It is Israel that never will have peace before they tear down the wall. We need politicians who condemn the wrong-doings of the offender."
The protest is in reaction to the recent offensive by Israel in Gaza. So far, 100 lives have been lost in attacks by both sides.
The police confirmed to NRK they estimated around 3,000 people took part in the peaceful ceremony and march to the Israeli embassy. Organizers had appealed to the crowd for calm and advised that a violent demonstration would only harm the cause of the Palestinians.
In Trondheim around 100 people gathered in the city's town square for a protest of sympathy for Palestine.
Protester, Venke Aarethun, of the Trondheim-Ramallah Friendship Association said: "We wanted to show our opposition towards the actions that Israel have exposed the Palestinian people to. Once again, innocent civilians suffer. There are women and children who have to pay with their lives and it is horrible."
