Around 800 people are expected to gather in Utøya, the island where Breivik shot 69 people at a Workers' Youth League (AUF) camp three years ago.

The event is organized by the AUF and will take place during this year's annual summer camp.

Members of the AUF will release 69 balloons to commemorate the deceased.

The special ceremony will start at 12 noon and AUF leader Eskil Pedersen will deliver a speech. Pedersen is stepping down from his role this month.

The trip to Utøya is a part of this year's AUF summer camp agenda. The group will not camp in Utøya, but Gulsrud – half an hour away by boat.

800 participants will attend this year’s summer camp – the biggest number of attendees ever signed up for an AUF camp.

Among those attending for the first time are Sanna Pooja Hauge, 16, and her friend Catrine Fabricius Jul-Rasmussen, 17,  from Lindås, outside of Bergen.
Both of them agree the 2011 terror attack has made young people become more politically interested. The girls are eager to not let the terrorist who attacked Utøya win.

Sanna and Catrine said to NTB: "We want to show him that we don’t give up. We will not stop being active."

Both of them will join 500 others and visit Utøya before rebuilding work starts.

"The hairs rise on my body when I think about going out there," Catrine said.

"I lost my best friend on Utøya. I want to say goodbye," Sanna said.
