While the king won't be on hand for the enthronement — expected to take place on June 19th — his wife Queen Sofia will be in attendance as will the daughters of the new king and queen, Leonor and Sofía.
Crown Prince Felipe's sister Elena will also be present, but not Princess Cristina who is currently embroiled in a corruption scandal, Spain's El País newspaper reported on Thursday.
The enthronement ceremony was originally planned as a low-key affair but the Royal Palace said on Thursday the new king and queen would parade through the streets of Madrid.
No foreign Heads of State or Royals have been invited to the enthronement, a decision Spain's Royal Palace has blamed on "the lack of time and space" available in the Parliament.
