Top ten things that can happen ‘only in Sweden’

Swedes mixing up their "sh" and their "ch" provides plenty of fodder for some OIS loving (that's #OnlyInSweden to those of us who prefer hashtags to acronyms). And so do elk, meatballs, and snow in May. We have ten of the best lined up.

Oh, Sweden, the land of the hunter gatherers who will slap herring on a foreign visitor's plate and call it a delicacy, or string their latest prey up on their balcony (no joke, click on) for all to see. 

We asked our followers on Twitter what they thought were quintessential OISs (Only in Swedens) and got a varied response – weather, elks, multipurpose hipster paraphernalia, a seemingly anorexic elk, more elk.. no just joking, there are only two elk in there.

What else… well if you thought the grunt and the groan of your train reaching its final destination, aka the slutstation, was funny, then we have another odd-sounding-in-English phrase to share with you. 

And the reverse, Swedes speaking English. Their propensity to mix up "sh" and "ch" is always good for chits and giggles.
