Frank Willy Djuvik, the party's leader in Sogn og Fjordane has already won support of the party in Troms, northern Norway, for his resolution and is confident of winning a majority at the congress.

If he suceeds, it will force Norway's Finance Minister Siv Jensen, the party's leader, to campaign against Oslo hosting the Olympics in 2022.

"I feel pretty sure that the Progress Party congress will agree that this is a misuse of public funds, and that the majority will support the resolution that Progress will oppose the Olympics," Djuvik told Norway's national broadcaster NRK.
