‘Zlatan will be back for finals’: PSG coach

Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc said on Tuesday that he believed Swedish goal machine Zlatan Ibrahimovic will play again before the end of the season.

"The objective is for him to play again before the end of the season. It's a realistic target. The signs are good, but we can't just do anything with him for fear of a recurrence," said Blanc at a press conference prior to PSG's Ligue 1 meeting with Evian at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.

Ibrahimovic injured his right thigh in the first leg of PSG's Champions League quarter-final against Chelsea at the start of this month and then returned to Sweden for a week for personal reasons before coming back to the French capital on Monday.

The Swede, who has scored a club record 40 goals in all competitions this season, missed last Saturday's 2-1 win against Lyon in the League Cup final as PSG secured the first of a likely trophy double.

A win against Evian on Wednesday will leave the defending champions 10 points clear of second-placed Monaco with only four games left and will mean they can clinch another Ligue 1 title with a win at Sochaux on Sunday.

Zlatan has been ‘cured’ of coronavirus: AC Milan

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been given the all-clear to end his quarantine period and return to action after testing negative for coronavirus, the Serie A club announced on Friday.

Milan confirmed in a statement that the Swedish striker had “tested negative” twice in a row, as stipulated in the protocol to be able to lift the quarantine procedure.

Ibrahimovic, 39, sounded a more triumphal note on his social media: “You are cured! The health authority says the quarantine is over, you can go out!”, he wrote on Twitter.

The announcement comes a day after Milan said Ibrahimovic had tested positive a second time for Covid-19, putting in doubt his participation in the Milan derby on October 17.

Ibrahimovic first tested positive on September 24.

The derby remains in doubt with two other Milan players and five from Inter currently in self-quarantine.

In spite of his absence, Milan have made a decent start to the season, having climbed to second in Serie A after winning all three of their games and reaching the group stages of the Europa League.
