Ida Beate Løken, a student at the Sogn Agriculture and Horticulture School, moved into her rocky dwelling in May 2013 after deciding she wanted to reduce her environmental impact to close to nothing.
"It's much more fun to stay there," Løken told Norway's TV2 network earlier this month.
"When it rains, I wonder how I do this," she said of her climb up from school. "But then when I get up here and sit inside, it is quite warm. Then I know why I do it."
Ida has a history of environmental activism, founding Green Youth in Sogn og Fjordane county.
She sleeps in a sleeping bag that can keep you warm in temperatures of -30 on a bed of straw covered with a mattress and a blanket, and drinks rainwater she catches in a bowl.
