Swedish kids crack adult content ‘code’ at school

Swedish parents who busted their children looking at adult content online were shocked to find the kids saying 'they'd learned the code at school'.

Lars Lindh found his seven-year-old son surfing inappropriate sites with a friend, but found it equally if not more shocking when his son said he had learned "the code" at school.

"You don't think this could happen at a school," Lindh told Sveriges Television (SVT), without specifying what his son meant by "the code".

A group of parents in the town of Tranås are now convinced that the young students have been able to access pornography on the school computers, which, school administrators conceded, did not have any filters installed to block adult material.

One parent noted that all the children needed to type into a search engine was the word XXX.

"So a child needs neither know how to read nor write to accidentally find these sites," the parent told SVT.

The school principal declined to give an interview when contacted by the local Smålandsposten newspaper, but said that a letter had been sent out to parents informing them that the school was looking into the matter.

Tranås municipal head, Anders Wilander, said the school computers had no filters, but said there must be other solutions to the problem.

"The extreme solution is to remove the computers but I don't think anyone wants that," Tranås told SVT.
