French election candidates: A porn star, a fake priest and a recently deceased

Almost 900,000 candidates have put themselves forward for the local elections in France this weekend, but some of them stand out more than others. Among those fighting for election are porn actresses, beauty queens and even a dead person.

Voters go to the polls in France on Sunday to choose the next leaders of their local councils.

In all around 900,000 candidates have put themselves forward for election and as might be expected some of those potential councillors and mayors have more colourful backgrounds than others.

Here’s just a small selection of some of the more weird, wonderful and in some cases, worrying candidates, that for one reason or another stand-out from the rest.
