Sochi on the Russian Black Sea is around 475 kilometres south-east of the Crimean regional capital, Simferopol, but the German team have expressed no security concerns.
Friedhelm Julius Beucher, president of Germany's National Paralymic Committee said in a statement on the committee’s website that the team had no reason not to travel.
“There is no danger around Moscow or Sochi at the moment,” he said.
German Olympic Sports Association president Alfons Hörmann said the team was travelling with mixed feelings in view of the crisis and he said that security was of paramount importance.
"It's not a good situation. We are all travelling with an unpleasant feeling," he said.
The 40-strong German team will be one of the last to arrive in Sochi.
The Winter Paralympics start on Friday, March 7th and last until March 16th.
